More Kids Get School Supplies

CORPUS CHRISTI-As most kids prepare to go back to school, organizations and people from all over the coastal bend have stepped up recently to make sure the kids have enough supplies for school.

The Ayers Event Center was the place to be Sunday for their 3rd annual atomic backpack giveaway.

Several hundred kids and their parents were treated to performances from local artists and of course, the backpacks.

Approximately 1,500 backpacks were given away, each full of school supplies.
The owners of Atomic Entertainment, Ray Reyes and Scott Navarro, say its all for the kids:
"The smiles are priceless on those kids faces when they woke up, they got a backpack full of school supplies, the smiles are just..wow!"

The two say the event has doubled every year and they can't wait till the next one.
