CORPUS CHRISTI - It was a very nice evening yesterday and great weather for all the Fourth of July activities. Afternoon highs only topped out at 94 degrees with just a few clouds and mainly dry conditions. The blocking pattern we have been talking about all week long is finally breaking down and will lead to more moisture here by end of the weekend.
Today will be mainly sunny skies with temperatures topping in the middle to upper 90s with only a lonely shower to our north with the peak heating of the day. Winds: SE 10-20mph & G.
Tonight, temperatures will bottom out in the middle 70s which is right at seasonal average with light and variable winds.
Moisture, and a more tropical-like weather pattern, will begin to unfold late Saturday and on into Sunday with isolated to scattered showers and thunderstorms beginning to move into South Texas courtesy of a weak tropical wave in the Gulf. The rainfall activity will stick around through Monday of next week before tapering off by Tuesday and Wednesday. Afternoon heat index values will move back into the triple-digits with the increased moisture.
