CORPUS CHRISTI - As many take Monday off in celebration of Martin Luther King Day, a fun, free event promises to help you honor MLK.

It's the 29th annual Martin Luther King Holiday Celebration.

It is free and open to the public.

The march starts at noon Monday at the Nueces County Courthouse. It ends at the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepard on 700 South Upper Broadway Street.

Free shuttle services will bus participants to the courthouse from the church. The bus starts running at 11:00.

The event is sponsored by Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated. They will provide entertainment, refreshments, door prizes and the bloodmobile will be there too.

They are also hosting a community prayer service Sunday night at 6:30 p.m. That's at Brooks Chapel Worship Center at 2101 N. Port Ave. The Rev. Carl Garmmon will officiate.

For more information on these events you can contact the Corpus Christi Alumnae Chapter at 991-6541.
