Michael Aguirre Found Guilty of Intoxication Manslaughter

CORPUS CHRISTI - A Nueces County jury has found a local man guilty of Intoxication Manslaughter and DWI with a Child.

It took the jury an hour to reach their verdict. Aguirre's family members broke down in tears when the verdict was read.

Michael Aguirre caused an accident that killed 45-year-old David Garner in June 2011.

Police say Aguirre was drinking at the time. One witness testified on Tuesday he saw Aguirre get out of his car after the accident and punch the victim, who died in the crash.

The punishment phase is now set to get underway.
