CORPUS CHRISTI -- A woman pulled into Spohn Memorial Hospital after a masked man shot at her truck with two passengers inside including a child on Wednesday afternoon.
Police are calling this a pretty bizarre event that may center around a fight over a pair of sunglasses.
A woman says a man wearing a blue or black bandanna pulled up next to her truck at the stop light at South Port and Ruth Street. He fired at least one shot that left a bullet hole in the door and shattered the back window.
The suspect then took off. The victim immediately headed towards the Christus Spohn Memorial Hospital parking lot.
She was treated for cuts to her face from flying glass. Her 21-year-old and 9-year-old son's were not injured.
Police believe the shooter knows her 21-year-old son and that the incident is related to another shooting last week on Port and Mary.
In that incident, a man was shot in the groin after being accused of stealing a pair of Versace sunglasses.
Police say the victim in that case isn't cooperating so they're still trying to figure out who did what and exactly how these two shootings are connected.
Police say the shooter from today is an Hispanic man in his 20's to 40's driving an 80's model Chevy Blazer.
