CORPUS CHRISTI - It wasn't just candidates urging people to go vote. Students at Martin Middle School were also trying to get the message out.
Students stood outside with signs in hand reminding people that their vote matters.
They got the idea of making signs after learning about voting in their English Arts class.
These kids are not old enough to vote, but they say they know how important it is and wanted to get the message across.
Christopher Garcia is in the 6 grade and says, "Some presidents, they can change the world, help us."
The students were outside all day asking people to honk if they've voted.
Garcia says, "We are trying to get people to vote so they can see what their options are."
School officials said they will be having mock election to reinforce how important it is to vote.
