CORPUS CHRISTI - The mother of a Martin Middle School student contacted us, telling us her son has been the victim of bullies for months.

Jacob Torres said the bullying started at the beginning of the year, but has gotten so bad, he ended up in the hospital yesterday.

Jacob's mother, Tracy, is now planning on transferring her son to a different school to avoid the bullies and wants to file criminal charges against the students she claims hurt her son.

Jacob, who is in the 6th grade should have been in class today, but instead was on his way to visit the doctor after he was knocked unconscious.

Jacob tells us, "A kid was trying to hit me in my stomach, so I looked, and he punched me in my face. And then his friend, I think, grabbed my mouth and threw me to the ground."

He tells us the bullies have called him names all school year. "They call me the B word, the S word, the F word. All those names." "They were throwing rocks, and they hit my neck."

He claims they would take his backpack, "sometimes they hide it. Sometimes they go through it and take my stuff. Or sometimes they just throw it in the trash can."

But yesterday was the last straw. After Jacob was knocked unconscious, he was taken to the office. According to him and his mom he was given an ice pack for his injuries, and sent back to class. Tracy says she never got a call that any of this happened.

Tracy says, "It hurts to see him in so much pain. He cries that he doesn't want to go to school. He is scared."

Tracy and Jacob went to the district office to find out why she was never contacted and why it seemed no one was doing anything about the bullying,

School and CCISD officials told us they tried to contact Tracy but there was a communication error.

When asked about disciplinary action for the students, school officials would only say they had taken care of the situation.
