HOUSTON (AP) - Houston police are seeking a 45-year-old man they say fatally shot an off-duty inspector for the city's fire department.
Police on Tuesday identified the fugitive as Alain Delon Bell, as investigators tried to determine why 55-year-old David Earl Stoneham was shot as he returned home with his 17-year-old daughter.
Bell faces a murder charge in Monday's slaying. Police say he's the stepfather of the girl.
Police say the girl and Stoneham had pulled into the driveway of the home when Bell appeared. The men argued and struggled with each other.
The teenager told police she saw her stepfather shoot her father twice. The girl says Bell then walked to his pickup truck parked a couple of houses down the street, got inside and drove away.
