CORPUS CHRISTI - A man started shooting at a group of people in the park last night, putting two men in the hospital.
A group of friends said they were hanging out at a park on Shely Street when an argument broke out. That's when the man suddenly pulled out a gun, pointed it at them, and began to shoot.
"He shot a 16-year-old in the groin area," said Lt. Tim Brown. "Shot a 24 year in the right leg." Both are in in Memorial Hospital with serious injuries.
The two victims are cousins, and the 16-year-old's siblings saw the whole thing happen. Police are talking to them right now trying to figure out what started the fight in the first place.
"There were a few people out here," said Brown. "Because we had at least two witnesses we were talking to."
Witnesses said the shooter was a heavy-set Hispanic male with a white shirt, red shorts, and tattoos on his arms. As of this morning they don't have a suspect, so they're asking anyone with more information to call Crimestoppers at 888-TIPS.
