ARANSAS PASS - Witnesses say the man who died in Conn Brown Harbor this morning revved the engine of his Ford Thunderbird before driving into the water.
This all happened around 7 a.m. Police have not released the man's name, only saying that they did recover his body.
A wrecker service pulled the older model Ford Thunderbird from the channel hours after the crash. Authorities still need to determine if the man's death was an accident.
Witnesses say it was a strange thing to watch.
"To me, it kind of looked intentional because it was sitting still and then it just takes off. Either that or an accident where they were meant to press the brake to change gears and accidentally hit the gas," Chad Short says.
