CORPUS CHRISTI -- A man crashed into a concrete barricade downtown Thursday before taking off on foot with his two passengers.
Robert Moore struck a barricade on Upper Broadway Street about two o'clock after speeding down Leopard Street at nearly 70 m.p.h. with a blown tire, police said.
"It was crazy. I mean, it almost looked like a movie," said Lou Copas, who was standing nearby when the 2006 Buick Lucerne hit the barricade. "It [the car] just shot right through Upper Broadway, and it didn't even try to turn."
Moore said he was taking medication for the Flu which caused him to lose control of the car. "I was under the influence of NyQuil -- all types of stuff."
Moore and his two passengers took off in different directions after the crash. Moore was caught on the I-37 overpass; the others were caught at the intersection of Leopard and Tancahua Streets, police said.
Police found what they said appears to be liquid PCP in the car, but they said they would have to send it to a lab for testing to be sure.
Moore is charged with evading arrest. Charges are pending against his passengers.
