CORPUS CHRISTI -- The Corpus Christi man charged with killing his grandmother in February, cutting her up and burying the parts appeared in court today.
A judge decided David Christy will get a mental evaluation to find out if he's competent to stand trial.
Investigators believe David hit 77-year-old Johanna Christy in the head with an object in the living room...then, took her body into the garage, where he cut it into four pieces with a chain saw.
Detectives say he then put the parts in trash bags and buried them in his grandmother's backyard.
