Major Crash on Highway 44 East of Alice

Unlicensed Driver Blamed for Hwy 44 Crash

ALICE - A crash east of Alice on Highway 44 sent one driver to the hospital this afternoon. Police say the driver of a BMW heading eastbound had no time to avoid a truck that tried to cross the road ahead.

The BWM made a heavy impact on the driver's side of the truck. Neither passenger nor driver were injured in the BMW.

At this time there's no word of the injuries to the driver of the Alice Tire Service truck.

Police say he will be cited for not having a driver's license.
