Major Crash Closes Westbound SPID Access at Everhart Exit

Holiday Rush Leads To Five Car Wreck Along SPID - KZTV

CORPUS CHRISTI - Police struggled to get on handle on increased holiday shopping traffic in front of La Palmera mall during the response to a 4 vehicle crash on the westbound SPID access road.

There's no word on any injuries in the crash at this time. The view from TxDOT cameras shows drivers cutting across the Everhart exit ramp in order to get on the freeway, a very dangerous move that could cause another accident.

Even after an officer used his unit to block off the exit ramp and put traffic cones in place drivers kept on cutting across the ramp.

Be courteous and cautious of other drivers. Especially in areas where there's more traffic, plus impatient drivers, around the malls and large shopping areas.
