Maingot Doesn't Fear Texas - Islander Tennis Heads to NCAA Tournament

CORPUS CHRISTI - Former Carroll standout Andrew Maingot is hoping to make the most of this trip to the NCAA Tournament, as it's his last ride before heading out into the working world.

Maingot and A&M-Corpus Christi Men's Tennis Team will take on Texas, a team they have never beaten on Friday in the Texas A&M Regional in College Station.

"Being the underdog in this match motivates us because we are a scary team and a good team and we are gonna fight and we believe in one another and iI' not scared to play them we will do fine," he said.

The two met earlier this season with Texas winning 6-1, but since then the Islanders have won 16 of 18 matches.

Last year Maingot played strictly doubles, posting a record of 1-3, while the year before he was 1-5 in Singles and 3-14 in Doubles.
