CORPUS CHRISTI- Summertime heat is expected ahead of the first major front of the season that will send temperatures tumbling some 40 degrees from the mid 90's t the mid 50's between Friday afternoon and Sunday night. By early Monday morning temperatures will be at their lowest levels since early May. A little but not a lot of rain is expected with frontal passage Saturday afternoon and evening.
Tonight we will have fair skies a gentle breeze otherwise tranquil and a warm low of 75.
Thursday we will have a mix of clouds and sunshine stifling heat and humidity with a high of 94. Expect a heat index of 104.
Friday will be sweltering with lots of sunshine not much wind and a high of 95 and a heat index close to 105.
An area of low pressure forming in the N.W. Caribbean will move into the central Gulf as a tropical depression or tropical storm but is no threat here because of our weekend cold front heading the system off at the pass.
