Long-Time Probation Officer Arrested For DWI Following I-37 Crash

CORPUS CHRISTI - A Nueces County probation officer was arrested for DWI following a near head-on collision on I-37. Police say 56-year-old John Beattie's pickup truck was going the wrong way on I-37 near the Labonte Park exit last night and almost hit another truck.
That driver managed to avoid the collision. Both drivers only received minor injuries. After he was checked out at the hospital. Police say Beattie went to jail for DWI. Online records identify him as a long-time probation officer for Nueces County.
