CORPUS CHRISTI - According to Doug McBee of CC Roadrunners Club, there are at least 3 Corpus Christi residents who participated in today's Boston marathon.
We've spoken with Paul Trotter's wife who says he is safe. Roswitha Goossens-Winter tells us she was far away when the explosions occurred.
The family of Jacob Perez, from Ben Bolt, says he is also safe.
Incarnate Word Coach Donny Patterson spoke with our Tyler Garrett a short time ago about his experience at the Boston Marathon where at least 2 people are dead and 28 injured after 2 explosions.
Patterson tells us just minutes before the first blast his wife was standing in the exact spot where it went off. She had moved to another location when the second occurred.
Patterson says he felt the ground shake a few minutes after he finished his own run.
The couple is now stuck in the subway as everyone headed to leave the area. Authorities shut down the subway out of concern of another incident.
We understand there are several more people from the Corpus Christi area in Boston for the marathon.
