CORPUS CHRISTI - The Texas Roadhouse restaurant here in Corpus Christi took part Monday in a statewide fundraiser for victims of the fertilizer plant explosion in the town of west.
The April 17th blast killed 14, injured hundreds and destroyed dozens of homes around the plant.
On Monday, all 53 Texas Roadhouse restaurants across the state planned to donate 10% of all lunch and dinner proceeds to victims of the west disaster.
Mike Schmidt, managing partner of the Corpus Christi Texas Roadhouse restaurant said, "Anytime in a time of tragedy we always look to see what we can do to help and the staff and I got together and we thought this would be a great way to show our appreciation for our neighbors not to far to the north."
The donation drive was scheduled to run until 10pm Monday.
Free appetizer cards were also being given to anyone who made a cash donation of $5 or more.
