CORPUS CHRISTI -- Governor Rick Perry has been subpoenaed as a witness in the case involving the so called "fight club" at the Corpus Christi State School.
Attorney Robert Hilliard currently represents eight residents and has filed a lawsuit against the state school and several agencies saying the abuse should have never happened.
Hilliard says Governor Perry needs to give a deposition because he was notified by the Department of Justice about several dangerous incidents at the school even before the infamous videos surfaced and says Perry did nothing to prevent them.
"And what I'd want to know from his is once you got the letters what did you do, once you got notice of the fight club what did you do and how long did you not do anything after group after group kept advising you that something needs to be done," Attorney Robert Hilliard said.
A trial date for the case has been set for May of next year.
