CORPUS CHRISTI -- It's that annoying scrap of paper you find trapped on your windshield. Sometimes it's an ad for a local business, a new nightclub or even a moving company but this time its for a community church and but littering cars with ads is not allowed in Corpus Christi.

One local resident, Isaac Rodarte says enough is enough with the advertisements being left on parked cars, especially his own.

"One day I was getting out of work I was driving didn't realize I had these flyers but man this caused so much of a mess and a ruckus and I just don't like it when people do that to my car," Rodarte said.

Sometimes the pesky papers even leave residue on the glass causing damage to the car and that's just one problem. Car owners likely get tired of finding advertisements and flyers on their windshields when they come back to their car and most of the time they end up as trash on the ground.

For three straight days people who parked their cars in a lot near the courthouse found several flyers marketing for the same place - Victory Life Fellowship, a local church.

We spoke with Anthony Bush of Victory Life Fellowship who told us that volunteers are supposed to hand out flyers by hand, not leave them on windshields.

"We go to the streets on a daily basis, it's called evangelism," Anthony Bush said.

City officials say it's against city ordinance to pass out or place flyers on public property and if someone is caught in the act they would be cited and could be fined up to 500 dollars. Bush says if they are doing something wrong the church will change its tactics by reaching out to people verbally.

Rodarte says he hopes they stand by their word. "I hope they make sure they stop this because this is just waste of paper, waste of time, apparently people don't like receiving a flyer on their windshield," he said.
