Lizard On The Loose!

CORPUS CHRISTI - A neighbor was shocked when he found a three foot iguana in his front yard on Montclair Drive today. Animal control rushed out to catch the guy but it wasn't easy because the lizard was so fast.

"I guess I was trying to wear him out so I would stand a chance at catching him," said the Animal Control Officer.

The man who first spotted the lizard said he kept his distance until help arrived. Animal Control says iguanas can bite and whip you hard with their tails.

Regardless, everyone seemed to keep their humor throughout the chase. The resident, Steven Zeigler said, "Never seen a lizard up close like that before so I don't know if he bites or tells jokes, I don't know."

The officer finally caught the lizard which he believes is someone's pet. If no one claims the iguana, he'll go up for adoption at Animal Control.
