Little Relief from Heat & Winds

CORPUS CHRISTI - More heat and strong winds for the Coastal Bend this afternoon as temperatures topped out in the lower 90's once again and wind gusts approaching 30mph in some locations. We did see another round of some isolated shower activity earlier this afternoon, most was short-lived, but a welcomed sight to those who received it. Unfortunately, none of that fell at the airport this afternoon to help our official rainfall readings as we approach nearly 7.50 inches below normal in the rainfall department.
Tonight, expect partly cloudy skies with winds lightening up from the southeast around 6-12 miles per hour and overnight lows in the mid to lower 70's.
Saturday, there will not be a whole lot of change from previous days, though I think there will be a little more cloud coverage. An isolated shower is possible, but another windy day is expected as a south-southeast wind will howl around 15-30 miles per hour with higher gusts possible. Do plan accordingly for the wind if you have outdoor activities planned. Of course, it will be warm with an afternoon high in the lower 90's likely.
A week front will arrive late Sunday evening into Monday morning that will drop temperatures a degree or two and pick up the rainfall coverage to isolated thunderstorms being possible. Though, a big washout is not expected at this time. Temperatures should recover back into the lower 90's by mid next week before another weak front comes through Thursday afternoon and will introduce yet another small opportunity for some rain and drop temperatures a few degrees.
