CORPUS CHRISTI - A little dog is lucky to have some generous people looking after him, after he nearly died in the explosion on Holmes Street Friday.
Monica Martinez is the Animal Control agent who took him in after firefighters pulled him from the rubble.
"One of the cops said this is the luckiest dog ever to be alive," she says.
The little black dog was found in his crate, which Martinez says is likely the reason he survived.
He has a few minor injuries, but is recovering just fine.
Martinez took him in, and today, gave him to a foster owner to keep him until his family can claim him.
Cynde Mendieta is that foster owner.
"I'll keep him at my house and he'll go to work with me, so he won't be out of my care for anytime really. He'll be with me 24-7," she says.
