CORPUS CHRISTI - Talk about a bad hair day! In response to this morning's cold front, winds ramped up between 20-40mph sustained with wind gusts approaching 60mph in some locations. Unfortunately, the front came through dry this morning, so with our dry fields, blowing dust has made visibility on some roadways a concern. The high fire danger threat and the wind advisory will expire tonight at 8pm. For the Gulf waters, the gale warning will remain in place until 3AM Tuesday.
Tonight, expect mostly clear skies with the winds still on the breezy side around 15-25mph, but a big improvement from sustained winds near 40-45+. Temperatures will become very chilly with the clear skies and fall into the mid to lower 40s. If the winds were to die down quicker, we could see some upper 30s, but at this point, it does not look like that will occur.
Tuesday will be very nice day, minus the winds, as they will finally calm down out of the northwest around 5-15mph with temperatures reaching the middle 70s.
There is another frontal boundary that will move through South Texas on Wednesday, but will move through dry, and bring up the winds again. That front has a little more "cooler" air associated with it and will drop temperatures back into the 40s for Thursday morning and only into the 60s for the afternoon. Next weekend looks fantastic with mostly sunny skies and temperatures in the middle to upper 70s.
Have a great day!
