CORPUS CHRISTI- We hit 99 today as our winds started to decline from rather high levels earlier this week. The peak wind gust today was only 31 mph. Brutal heat is expected this weekend. Here is the detailed forecast.
The dry high is now forecast to move slowly northwest into the central Rockies and away from south Texas. The first noticeable effect from this will be the decreasing winds. This will result in lower lows but also hotter highs. Eventually next week tropical moisture will increase and we will see rain slowly increase by the middle of next week into the following weekend. Before the rains commence the highs will reach triple digit levels.
Tonight will be mainly clear and not as warm due to less wind and a low of 77.
Thursday we will have noticeably less wind sunny skies and blistering heat with a high of 99.
Temperatures will be at or above 100 degrees Friday Saturday and Sunday.
The tropics continue to be all quiet.
