CORPUS CHRISTI - Once again Thanksgiving is here, which means turkeys, pies, and holiday cheer.
But before the family and the fun, there is still some last minute shopping to be done.
HEB employees say the lines have been pretty long the last few days with last minute shoppers, like Karrie Rea who says, "i've got pretty much everything. A small turkey, and then all of the sides. Green beans, mashed potatoes, stuffing."
The shoppers crowded the aisles looking for the perfect turkey that might be hidden in the piles.
But why did shoppers wait until the day before?
Rea says, "I had been working so much and I ended up having to come today."
Joann Talarantas had another issue, "we had to see how many we were going to be. The list keeps getting bigger."
But lucky for them, it wasn't too busy today inside the store.
Rea says, "it's not so bad here at HEB. It's crowded but not too bad. Pleasantly surprised."
Tally Neal added, "it's not too busy, suprisingly."
Employees scanned, and bagged, while customers waited in line.
Rea had an idea for next time, "Try not to wait until the last minute. You always forget something. You need time to run back."
In case you forget a last minute item don't worry. HEB will be open until 6 tomorrow so you'll be able to buy them.
All HEB's will be open from 6 am until 2 pm. The 24 hour stores will be open until 6 pm.
HEB will re-open 6 am Friday morning.
