CORPUS CHRISTI -- Last minute shoppers spent the day at the stores. La Palmera mall closes at 6 tonight. Walmart is open until 8 p.m. and Target is open until 9 p.m. tonight.
The crowds at the mall this morning were not too bad, the deals were good, but selection was slim. We found parking lots full, but no long lines at the mall today.
Most shoppers told us waiting meant bigger deals to be found. "When we came last week it wasn't buy one get one half off and so now it is," said shopper Claudia Schmidt, "I don't necessarily need another piece of jewelry, but if there's something there then you might as well grab it."
It does come at a cost though. There's a drop in selection. Schmidt came searching for her son. He wanted to buy a necklace for his sister, and may have to compromise on color.
"Selection could be very slim at that point, so you kind of have to go with whatever you find at that point," Schmidt said. Last minute lines for Santa were short as well.
