CORPUS CHRISTI-- A truck crash on Interstate 37 this morning closed the northbound lanes for several hours.
A large cargo truck was northbound near Sharpsburg road when it lost control, hit the center median and spun in the middle of the highway.
The impact with the barrier caused the truck to leak gas from its tanks, the crash closed northbound lanes for at least a few hours as traffic was diverted.
Police and witnesses say the weather was a factor in the crash as it was raining heavily at the time and the truck driver was going too fast and hydroplaned.
The driver was not seriously injured and he will be cited for going at an unsafe speed for the weather conditions.
