CORPUS CHRISTI - The Texas Department of Transportation Corpus Christi District and the City of Corpus Christi Traffic Engineering office advises residents that on Monday, Aug. 13, A's Construction will resume construction work on the southwest corner of South Padre Island Drive (S.P.I.D.) and Everhart Road. This work will begin at 8:30 a.m. and continue until 4:30 p.m.
During this period, work crews will temporarily implement the following traffic control plan through the intersection.
Everhart Road: Southbound traffic on Everhart will be reduced to one lane through the work site. Lane closure will begin north of S.P.I.D. Northbound traffic on Everhart will not be affected.
South Padre Island Drive Frontage Road: The westbound S.P.I.D. Left Turn Only lane will be closed at the Everhart intersection. The eastbound S.P.I.D. Right Turn Only lane will be closed at Everhart intersection.
Traffic control devices will guide motorists through the construction site. While the work is underway, motorists should expect delays and are advised to seek alternate routes to avoid the area if possible. Motorists are also advised to observe all construction warning signs and barricading for their safety and that of construction crews. Access to local driveways will be maintained throughout the duration of the project.
