LAKE CORPUS CHRISTI -- Firefighters thought a fire that started on Lake Corpus Christi Thursday was out today but officials say it picked back up again this afternoon.
Officials believed the recent rainfall in the area smothered the flames but apparently a few hotspots started back up again today.
A portion of the lake was dried up with brush and dead trees which caused the flames to spread to a half mile wide and about 2 miles long yesterday.
While the cause of the fire is still unknown, both Swinney Switch and George West firefighters continue to keep an eye those flames that have started back up today.
