KINGSVILLE -- The hit reality show -- The Biggest Loser -- will premiere season 14 tonight on NBC.

But we found out, you don't need to turn on the tube to see people losing hundreds of pounds, just join your local gym.

One Kingsville woman lost more than 150 pounds and she's hoping others will follow in her footsteps.

Melissa Elliott lost the weight with the help of the Colston Family Physical Rehabilitation and Wellness Center.

She said, "It has to be fun. If it's not fun for you, you won't continue."

Melissa traded junk food for fruits and veggies and soda for water.

She said, "I would have to say it was the soft drinks. That was my hardest thing to give up. I would drink anywhere from four or five a day."

Melissa says another obstacle was going to the gym about everyday.

As a 313 pound woman, it wasn't easy, she was embarrassed about her weight.

Melissa said, "I would just put on my headphones and listen to my music and really not pay attention to what everybody else was doing, just doing my own thing and as I started seeing more results. I felt more comfortable."

She says along with her friends, fitness trainers and weight loss challenges also helped her shred pounds.

One of the center's trainers says if you can commit to a lifestyle change -- like Melissa did -- you can see results too.

He says healthy eating and working out are necessary to succeed.

Jorge Rodriguez said, "Everybody has to have some type of drive or goal they set for themselves in order to keep the motivation to come and exercise. Other than that, it's just going to seem like it's work."

Along with a hot body, Melissa says she feels good too.

So, she's not looking back because this is her new life and while it isn't always easy,
she loves the way it feels.
