Kingsville Narcotics Task Force Seizes $189k in Cash

KINGSVILLE - A Brownsville woman is in the Kleberg County jail on money laundering charges after a stash of cash is found hidden in her car.

Officers with the Kingsville Narcotics Task Force pulled the woman over Monday afternoon on U.S. Highway 77 for a traffic violation.

A search of her 2008 Toyota Corolla turned up a bundle of cash hidden in the wheel well.

A more extensive search was done and more bundles of cash were found.

A total 30 bundles were found hidden in the firewall of the car.

It all added up to $189,000.

The woman's name has not been released.

She told officers she was driving from Dallas to Brownsville.
