Kingsville Apartment Employee Charged With Burglary

KINGSVILLE - An employee of an apartment complex in Kingsville is in hot water after police say she was stealing from a tenant. The victim told investigators she installed a camera in her apartment after finding things missing on several occasions, but she could not figure out how the suspect got in.

This week the woman noticed some clothing missing, so she checked the video and noticed a woman in her apartment. Police say 27-year-old LeAnne Marie Gandy was using a key from the apartment office to get into the victim's unit.

According to police, Gandy tried to claim she went into the apartment to get her own property. However, she later changed her story and returned the stolen clothing.

She's being held on $10,000 bond for burglary. Investigators are trying to find out if any other tenants at the Apple Creek Apartments fell victim to Gandy's alleged activities.
