CORPUS CHRISTI - Kidney transplant recipients spent their Saturday having some fun with their doctors over at Fun Trackers.
Kids who were born with kidney problems and treated at Driscoll Children's Hospital reunited with the doctors and nurses who treated them.
Doctors say days like this make their jobs worthwhile. "The wonderful thing about it is you get to see the kids when they're little. You get to see the change that happens when you put a functioning organ in and then you see them grow and develop more normally. That's what probably the most satisfying," says Steve Almond, a surgeon at Driscoll Children's Hospital.
Many of these children had been on dialysis since they were only months old, but thanks to their kidney transplant, they now have a new lease on life. This is Driscoll Children's Hospital's seventh reunion for their kidney patients.
