ROBSTOWN - Things are starting to ramp up over at the Richard M. Borchard Regional Fairgrounds in Robstown for the annual Nueces County Junior Livestock Show. Kids, ages 8 and up, started bringing their pets into the complex this morning to prepare them for the judges. From cows, to chickens, to goats, to bunnies, just about every animal is featured at the competition.
While every creature is observed separately, judges generally look for muscle mass. For months the kids have been waking up early, before school, to feed and exercise their animal. Finally, in the next few days, they'll figure out whether their pet has what it takes to win first place.
