CORPUS CHRISTI - Joshua Atwood, who was found guilty of manslaughter was sentenced today and we spoke with family members after they heard how long Joshua would be behind bars.

An emotional Monica Brown, Joshua's wife, told us her next step, "Just go forward. Wait for him to come home. That's all I can do."

Monica will spend the next 25 years without her husband, Joshua. The kiss he blew her as he came into court today will be their last for a while.

Monica says, "I just think it was really unfair. This was all just a misunderstanding. And for 25 years, you know. He is going to miss out on all of that for her."

Her being the couples toddler, Bella, who Monica held in her arms as she struggled to fight back tears as she told us how she felt about the sentence.

Just yesterday, a jury found him guilty of manslaughter, for the death of his father, Todd Atwood.

That's a lesser charge then the capital murder charge he was on trial for.

In the end it was Judge Sandra Watts who had to decide on Joshua's punishment.

Watts told Joshua, "The bottom line is you are here and Todd is dead." And sentenced him to 25 years in prison.

Joshua's family is divided. One side wanted to see him punished, the other wanted him to have another chance.

Joshua's step mom and Todd Atwood's wife, Pamela, agrees with Judge Watts' decision, "I believe justice is served and that's all I have to say."

But Joshua's wife, who is also losing her husband, will now have to raise their daughter alone. We asked how she felt after she heard the sentence and she says, "sad, broken hearted. You know. I just lost my husband over something that was just an accident."

Monica says the next step is to put the pieces back together for her family.
