CORPUS CHRISTI - Testimony is now underway in the capital murder trial of Joshua Atwood. The Corpus Christi man is accused of fatally beating his father, Todd Atwood, during an argument over the son's wife back in July 2011.
The father was treated at an area hospital for internal bleeding, fell into a coma, and later died.
The Nueces County District Attorney's office is not seeking the death penalty in this case. If convicted, Atwood faces an automatic life sentence.
