Joshua Atwood Given 25 Years for Manslaughter

CORPUS CHIRSTI - Joshua Atwood was sentenced to 25 years in prison for a beating that resulted in his own father's death. He was convicted on Thursday for the lesser charge of manslaughter while on trial for capital murder.

The father, Todd Atwood, suffered brain injuries, fell into a coma and later died.

Judge Sandra Watts addressed the court this morning and said even though she believes the father played a factor in starting the fight, the son's actions could not go unpunished.
