CORPUS CHRISTI - The John Paul II swim team will head to the TAPPS State meet this weekend looking to make even more history. As the Centurions are sending their first ever relay teams to San Antonio.
Johnny Alvarez will anchor the team, as he makes his second consecutive trip to state. The biggest difference this year will be in classification as John Paul has moved up to Division 1.
"Each event is 10 seconds faster and 10 seconds is a huge deal in swimming," said Alvarez.
"We're excited we are pumped we really wanna make it we are determined and we are gonna try out best out there," added Eric Willingham.
State Qualifiers
Johnny Alvarez: 200 Individual Medley, 100 Back, 200 Medley Relay (backstroker), 4x100 Free Relay
Nick Kimmel: 200 Medley Relay (breaststroker), 4x100 Free Relay
Christian Soliz: 200 Medley Relay (freestyler), 4x100 Free Relay
Eric Willingham: 200 Medley Relay (butterflyer), 4x100 Free Relay
