CORPUS CHRISTI -- Hundreds of people laced up their shoes and put on Santa hats and bells for the first annual Jingle Bell 5K run.
The best part about this event, the money raised will go to bikes for kids.
That's a charity program which provides bicycles for under privileged children in the Coastal Bend area.
The run started at the House of Rock this morning.
There was also music, food, give-away's and Santa Claus but Santa should have worn a tank top instead of his heavy coat, it was hot out there today!
Tom Neagli said, "The weather was a little hot and sticky you got to talk to Dale (Nelson) and get him to cool it down. I saw him last night and he said it will be higher than normal, but hey it was great. It's great to be in South Texas, great turnout!"
Organizers say out of the 300 people who showed up to run, 70 were children.
