KINGSVILLE - The Texas A&M-Kingsville volleyball team travels to Lone Star Conference rival Abilene Christian on Thursday night with a chance to clinch their second LSC Playoff berth in three seasons. The match begins at 7 o'clock.

The Javelinas (17-10, 6-5) enter the final week of the season in a tie for fifth place in the conference. The top eight teams in the conference advance to the postseason tournament that will be hosted by West Texas A&M. One win will get the Hoggies into the playoffs. They also hold the tie-break advantage over Midwestern State, Southeastern Oklahoma and East Central, all teams that are vying for the playoffs.

The Wildcats (25-5, 10-1) have already punched their ticket to the playoffs. They are led by Shawna Hines who posted a .569 attack last week en route to earning LSC Offensive Player of the Week honors. She leads the nation in total blocks and blocks per set.

The Javelinas have a balanced attack that features Kristin Chancellor (Bellville/Bellville HS), Adina Gray (Corpus Christi/Flour Bluff HS) and Sha Tramble (Houston/Clear Brook HS). All three are averaging over 2.30 kills per set. Chancellor leads the team with a .323 attack and 0.93 blocks per set. Tara Grier (Poth/Poth HS) has been the team's all-around whiz kid averaging 1.99 kills, 4.98 assists and 2.75 digs per set.
