CORPUS CHRISTI - A tournament hosted by Texas A&M-Kingsville kicks off Whataburger Field's 2013 amateur baseball slate.
The first Holiday Inn Emerald Beach South Texas Baseball Classic is set for Friday-Saturday-Sunday February 8-9-10. Loyola-New Orleans, Southeastern Oklahoma State and St. Cloud (Minn.) State join the Javelinas for the round-robin affair.
Southeastern Oklahoma and St. Cloud are NCAA Division II institutions like A&M-Kingsville. Loyola-New Orleans is a member of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA).
Tickets go on sale Friday, January 18, at 9 a.m. at the Whataburger Field box office and cchooks.com
All seats are General Admission, $6 for daily adult tickets and $4 ages 4-18. Students of participating schools may purchase $4 daily tickets upon presentation of a current ID.

Friday, February 8
Loyola-New Orleans vs. Southeastern Oklahoma State, 2 p.m.
St. Cloud State vs. Javelinas, 6 p.m.
Saturday, February 9
St. Cloud State vs. Loyola-New Orleans, 2 p.m.
Southeastern Oklahoma State vs. Javelinas, 6 p.m.
Sunday, February 10
Southeastern Oklahoma State vs. St. Cloud State, noon
Loyola-New Orleans vs. Javelinas, 4 p.m.
Texas A&M-Kingsville went 31-18 last season and advanced to the NCAA Tournament for the third time. Jason Gonzales' fifth Javelinas squad opens the 2013 campaign February 1 at Minute Maid Park against Central Missouri.
