KINGSVILLE, Texas - The Texas A&M-Kingsville football team suffered its third consecutive loss on Saturday falling 41-28 to Texas A&M-Commerce on Kleberg Bank Homecoming night at Javelina Stadium.
The Javelinas drop to 2-3 and 0-3 in the Lone Star Conference with the loss, while Commerce moves to 3-2 overall and 1-2 in the LSC. Kingsville heads to North Alabama next Saturday.
Down 13-0 after two first quarter field goals and a Harrison Stewart 2-yard TD run, the Javelinas got on the board late in the first half. The Hoggies scored on a 23-yard pass play from Dean Brantley to Robert Armstrong with 2:37 left in the half to cut their deficit in half. Matt Stoll's point after was good to make it 13-7.
However, Commerce broke open the game with a pair of touchdowns in the final minute of the first half. Dionte Taylor blocked an Angel Millan punt and returned it 21 yards for a touchdown with 57 seconds left in the half.

Commerce made it 34-7 on their first possession of the third quarter as Stewart capped a 5-play, 75-yard drive with a 2-yard run.
After a 46-yard TD pass from Stewart to Jordon Jenkins pushed the Lions lead to 41-7, the Javelinas scored three times in the final six minutes to pull within 13 points.
Caleb Bedford accounted for two of the late TDs. He scored on a 1-yard run for the second straight week and then connected with Musa Mahmud on the first TD pass of his career from 22-yards out. The scoring reception was also the first of Mahmud's Javelina career.
