KINGSVILLE, Tx - The Texas A&M-Kingsville baseball team is garnering national attention after winning all three of its contests in the inaugural Holiday Inn Emerald Beach South Texas Baseball Classic.

With five straight wins and two wins on the season against national ranked opponents already in 2013, the Javelinas (6-1) are currently ranked 20th in the nation according to D2baseballnews.com. They are also third in the website's South Central region poll released on Monday. In the Collegiate Baseball Division II poll also released on Monday, the Javelinas are receiving votes for the top 30 with 12 points. The total is the fourth most points not in the top 30.

Kingsville will get another opportunity to beat a ranked opponent on Tuesday evening in San Antonio. The Javelinas will face the Rattlers at 6 p.m. Wolff Stadium, which is the minor league home of the San Antonio Missions Double A team. The Rattlers are ranked as high as tenth in the nation by D2Baseballnews.com and are tops in the region just ahead of Angelo State. St. Mary's is 15th in the Collegiate Baseball poll with a 5-2 mark.
