CORPUS CHRISTI - The Incarnate Word Academy Swim Team is all set for the TAPPS State Meet on Friday in San Antonio. The Angels have been extremely impressive in the water despite being a very young team made up of mainly sophomores.
Angelina Wolfe, the reigning region champ in the 100 Free is a favorite to medal at the meet in the 100 Free and 200 IM. Wolfe claimed 2nd at the region meet in the 200 IM. This will be her second trip to state.
"Last year was really great it was my freshmen year and I didn't know what to expect and so hopefully this year we bring home some golds or some places," said Wolfe.
On the boy's side Steven Wendel should also contend, he finished 4th in the 500 Free at region meet missing the cut but his time was fast enough to be called up as one of the 7 fastest swimmers after the top 3 swimmers from each of the 3 regions advanced. Wendel also advanced to State in 2012.
"I won't be as nervous this year I know the ropes better and I hope I do good at state," said Wendel.

Steven Wendel, Connor Hall, Kaleb Pena, & Hank Carrillo - 200 Medley Relay & 400 Free Relay.
