CORPUS CHRISTI - After a few locations saw some much needed rainfall yesterday afternoon, there are a few spots that once again saw some showers today. The aerial coverage of today's storms is a tad smaller, but still, the rainfall is certainly a welcome sight. Most of the lingering thunderstorm activity will begin to taper off this evening as most of the storms will move to the south and into the Gulf. This will leave us with partly cloudy skies and very muggy conditions.
Tonight, expect overnight lows to range from the mid to upper 60s as fog is likely to develop in the overnight and morning hours. Some of it may become thick and dense so early morning commuters should exercise extreme caution on the roadways.
Monday, look for a mix of clouds and sun with an afternoon high in the upper 80s to some lower 90s for our inland areas as a weak cold front will arrive late in the evening and into the overnight hours. There will be another opportunity to see some isolated showers out ahead of the weak frontal boundary, but those will quickly diminish as the front sweeps through.
Temperatures will cool off slightly on Tuesday and Wednesday where even the upper 50s could be observed on Wednesday morning. Then, a brief warm-up commences ahead of the next front that should arrive late next weekend. We will be monitoring the progress of that front as it looks, for now, that it will deliver a stronger punch of some "cooler" air, versus the one that will arrive tomorrow evening.
