SAN MARCOS, Texas - The Texas A&M - Corpus Christi Baseball team was unable to find its offensive groove on Sunday afternoon, falling 7-1 in the series finale against Texas State. The teams end the season series tied 2-2 after the Bobcats picked up the final two games of the weekend.

The Islanders (10-9) were only able to muster four hits in the game after reaching double-digit hits in the previous two games of the series. The Bobcats had 10 hits in the game as Texas A&M - Corpus Christi starter Adam Hoelscher (1-2) gave up a couple of early runs that would ultimately be the difference.

The Bobcats picked up single runs in the bottom of the first and fourth innings, but they did the majority of the damage with four runs on three hits in the bottom of the fifth inning to make it a 6-0 lead.

The Islanders finally got on the board in the top of the 7th, getting a leadoff double by Dominic Lopez to left center, while Brad Lamberti drove him home with an RBI double down the right field line to make it 6-1.

The Bobcats answered with a run of their own in the bottom half of the seventh, extending the lead back to six heading into the final two innings.

Neither team would score again as Texas State earned the series win. The season series ended at 2-2, with the Islanders claiming the first two in a midweek contest and the first game of the series, while Texas State picked up the final two of the year.

Lamberti and Lopez each had doubles, while Eric Weiss and Cody Stephens picked up one single apiece. Lamberti had the only RBI of the game for the Islanders.

Next up for the Islanders will be a single game against Harvard on Monday, March 18 at Chapman Field. Live stats and video will be available by visiting www.GoIslanders.com.
