Investigators Searching 77-Year-Old Woman's Home on Bentwood

CORPUS CHRISTI - Officers and detectives have blocked off access to an elderly woman's home on the 3800 block of Bentwood Drive as they try to find the woman.
It started at 5:40 p.m. when police received a phone call from a man in San Antonio concerned about the well being of his mother. The son from told officers he talks to her everyday, but today he could not reach her. He requested police go by her home for a welfare check.
Police are treating this as a missing person's case.
We're told she lives with her grandson who is in his 20's. Neighbors said they saw him in front of the home 15 minutes before police arrived. They claim he took off runnning through the backyard.
The grandson was detained at 8:30 p.m. outside of the Dolphin's Landing apartment complex. Police say there was an altercation and footchase before he was arrested and detained.
Some neighbors feel it is great news because they are used to him roaming the streets, knocking on doors, and telling everyone he has a chip in his head and is part of secret society.
Crime Scene technicians, homicide investigators, and police dogs gathered in the backyard tonight. Around 9 p.m. we understand the dogs got the scent of something that alerted officers to check an area of the home.
For now, the home is roped off by crime scene tape as neighbors keep an eye on what's happening.
Police are waiting for a warrant before entering the home.
