Intended Shooting Victim Saved by Belt Buckle

CORPUS CHRISTI - A westside man's belt buckle saved him serious injury early this morning as an armed man opened fire. Police say they victim was confronted by a complete stranger as he was standing in his cousin's front yard in the 1800 block of Morales.

The suspect fired two shots, but they were deflected by the belt buckle. The victim took off running as the suspect fired again. He was not injured.

The victim was unable to describe the shooter or the kind of vehicle he was driving.
